After turning it on it the first time since November something was seriously wrong with it (half hour boots, hanging software updates, far too many rainbow wheels, etc) so I decided to erase the disk and reinstall, but on trying to re-download El Capitan I keep get a 'this item is temporary unavailable'. Aug 11, 2016 - I got a used Imac from a friend, To my understanding the os is Mountain Lion, She never erased all her info, so I went a tried to do a fresh install.
App for mac to download youtube videos. Elmedia supports channels, playlists and extracts MP3 sounds from videos. The app can also download subtitles and save in.srt format. Elmedia Player PRO can download streaming video on Mac, including videos broadcasted via RTMP and embedded via HTML5. One can use Open URL option to preview the video online.
Hey all - forgive me if this is a repost, but my searches have turned up nothing that I haven't already tried. I've got a MBP that was running el capitan on it, but would not boot. Hardware tests all come up clean. Steps attempted thus far: 1) Internet recovery in pre-boot environment - was able to get it to the point where it was asking to log in to an apple ID to download el capitan. It would consistently error out saying 'temporarily unavailable, try again later'.
I learned that this is because the apple ID's I have access to never downloaded the software in the past, so it's not associated with the account. 2) I used this tutorial to create usb installations of mac os x el capitan, and sierra. Issue on boot - when I select which boot device I want to load from, it starts the process with the apple logo and the dark gray bar. It nears about 60%, and then painstakingly loads to 100% of the bar filled, never moving on to a new task. 3) I wiped the source disk (remove, format) and then tried the steps in 2) again, to no avail, it still doesn't load from usb on either image of os x. All advice welcome, links to RTFM, and punishing comments for missing the obvious.:).
Hi, Your subject line says. USB (made from Windows). Does that mean the key was formatted on a Windows box originally?
Not that it should matter if you created the USB boot key properly but I ask as it is confusing. Speaking of the boot key, by which process, specifically, was it made? Shredder app for mac mac. There are a few floating around the internet. I should point out that I had nothing but trouble creating an El Capitan key but all the others - including Sierra - performed flawlessly.
If you can verify the quality of your boot keys, then perhaps it is the mac itself. Have you tried resetting the PRAM (now called NVRAM) and SMC?
Resetting both of these areas in hardware can solve a host of issues. Here is a link to follow: Give it a whirl and let us know. Thanks for your reply. Key was formatted on a windows box, and used the transmac app to put the dmg to it. Quality - right up there, Kingston SE9 devices (multiple, that I use for other servers. Boot key - diskpart method to start, TransMac to finish: 1) select disk 2) clean 3) convert gpt 4) create partition primary 5) Load up transmac, restore from disk image. The boot key itself STARTS the load process, it seems, but never completes.
Advice welcomed if there is something else specific needed. I have access to multitudes of linux boxes if that aids my plight as well. Checking out your link on that, but had previously ignored those steps due to not seeing any reason to think the system may need it applied. Will report back via edit on this line. You can create a Mac bootable USB on Windows. Mac os x adobe reader. It needs to be done correctly, or it won't boot properly.
